Visit the Calendar of Events for upcoming activities and events. If you're interested in a Vizsla or the club, we welcome you to Join Us. We LOVE talking about Vizslas and can't stop even if you want us to! | About Us The CWVC was organized around 1989 and incorporated in 1994. Our members are from all areas of Wisconsin and across the United States. Quarterly meetings are held in various locations throughout Wisconsin. Each meeting typically includes some kind of Vizsla related fun activity (i.e., dog games, hunting or agility); demonstrations (i.e., barn hunt, canine massage); or a guest speaker (i.e., holistic care, caring for the elderly). Meetings also include a potluck or lunch/dinner at a restaurant. The Annual Fun Day is a highly recommended event to attend for those new to the club. It is a great atmosphere for chatting, eating good food, and playing fun games with your Vizslas (other breeds welcome too) such as our hot dog eating contest and the fastest Vizsla race! Our Focus: Though we love our Vizslas and all their quirks, we also know that this is not the breed for everyone and public education is very important. We have participated in activities such as the Wisconsin Dog Fair, Milwaukee Pet Fairs, Wisconsin State Fair World of Dogs, assisting the DNR and WAFTC in their Hunting Dog Seminars at Bong and Ottawa State Parks, and visiting schools to give talks on dog care and training. Communications: Published quarterly, "The Paw's Print" features articles and interviews covering the many events and activities performed with Vizslas, funny stories submitted by members, club notices and event dates, member brags, health updates and care tips, meeting minutes and much more. |
